Aronia melanocarpa is a low maintenance shrub. It stands at an open, upright, somewhat rounded appearance. It is native to swamps, moist thickets and low woodlands, however it is also common in North America. It is easily grown in average to medium wet well drained soils in full sun to part shade. They have a variety of soil tolerance ranging from wet boggy soils to dry sandy ones. Best fruit production usually occurs in full sun.
