This hardy crabapple has a vase shaped spreading habit with deep purple buds that open to rose pink blooms with a star like center. It produces one inch edible bright red fruit that is excellent for jams and jelly. Crabapples are adaptable to a variety of sites and refer heavy-loam soil, but will tolerate clay soils as long as they are well drained but moist, with no standing water. They are drought tolerant and reveal beautiful blooms in spring.
