Mountain Ninebark is a fast growing, upright, spreading, deciduous shrub with an exquisite fountain shape and incredibly decorative exfoliating bark. The plant features profuse creamy-white flowers. The flowers begin to appear delicately pink tinged in late spring before they give way to drooping clusters of red fruit in fall. They are rich in nectar so they benefit many insects. During winter season the bark reveals its splendor, peeling in multiple strips to display layers of reddish to light brown inner bark.
