Golden Currant is a beautiful shrub that blooms wit golden yellow flowers, that reveal a pronounced fragrance similar to cloves or vanilla. The flowers attract hummingbirds and monarch butterflies. The leaves are green and shaped similarly to gooseberry leaves, turning red in autumn. The shrub produces berries from an early age the ripe fruits are amber yellow to black in color and are edible, attracting a wide range of birds.
