Silver buffaloberry is an upright, bushy, thorny-branchched, thicket-forming deciduous shrub. It is noted for its attractive silvery-scaled leaves and branches plus bright red fruit that matures in fall. Silver scaled stems are clad with opposite, elliptic densely-pubescent silvery scaled leaves. The fruit produced attracts birds and other animals. Although commonly called buffalo berry is it more of a stone fruit.
